Ericsson ranks among top 3 telecom companies to work for in India

NEW DELHI: Ericsson said that it has been recognized as one of the top three companies to work for in the Indian telecom industry by Great Place to Work Institute.

The Swedish gear maker was also listed amongst top 100 workplaces in India. The Great Place to Work Survey was carried out amongst 700 organizations across 20 industries in India.

Great Place to Work Institute has recognized Ericsson's commitment towards fostering a culture of trust within the organisation that attracts and nurtures the best talent and encourages them to excel in performance.

"The recognition that Ericsson receives as a great employer reinforces the value we place on our people and their growth. We are honored to be recognized by the Great Places to Work institute for our commitment to develop a strong culture in the organization. This recognition comes as a testimony of the hard work we put in to creating an environment conducive for professional and personal growth," Amitabh Ray, Head of Global Services India and Managing Director, Ericsson India Global services, said in a statement.

Ericsson India said that it has implemented several initiatives for the employees which reinforce its drive to build a great workplace.

Sameer Khanna, Head of Human Resource at Ericsson India said, "At Ericsson, our employees are at the heart of our business and we strive to create an environment that inspires our people to achieve their full potential."

The Workplace Award also takes into consideration an extensive culture audit, providing evaluators with insight into a company's value system, programs and practices in the areas of hiring, communication, employee development and Company celebrations.

To pick the 'Top Companies to Work for in India', the Great Place to Work Institute conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company's score is based on the results of the Institute's Trust Index employee survey, which is sent to the employees from each company.

The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management's credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The remainder of the scoring is based on the company's responses to the Institute's Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and development.
